Join the Sports centre at Bolton One
The Sports Centre is located in Bolton One. Conveniently located near the town centre, it has easy access to students, staff and external users.
Within Bolton One the university houses a 50ft indoor climbing wall, a Sports Hall and academic research facilities. The climbing wall is available to all staff and students. We have the instructors and facility to allow students to make the best use of this superb indoor facility.
Competitive Sports at the university, BUCS (British Universities College Sports). We have a many competitive teams such as Football, Hockey, Netball, Basketball, Trampolining and Cricket. We are constantly looking to compete in other sports when students approach us and make a request

Swimming is still very popular with students and staff throughout the year and we have arranged timings with the pool at Bolton One for all of our staff and students.
All users of the pool must produce their university ID card to gain entry. Timings as follows (Monday to Friday);

The University now operates a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) facility, providing an incredible space for our students and the local community to engage in a wide range of sports and activities. This fantastic addition reflects our commitment to promoting health, well-being, and inclusivity.
The MUGA facility offers a versatile space for various sports such as football, netball, and more, catering to different interests and skill levels. It’s a great opportunity for students to stay active, develop teamwork skills, and enjoy recreational activities. Additionally, the facility will be available for community use, fostering a sense of unity and providing a valuable resource for local residents. We’re proud to offer such a fantastic facility that promotes physical activity and community engagement.

Peak time gym memberships for students on a first come first served basis. Unlimited use of the fitness suite, sauna & steam room, studio classes and athletics track.
