ASH aims to support you throughout your studies, offering expert guidance to help you develop essential academic skills. Whether you need assistance with academic writing, developing your digital skills or anything else, ASH provides a variety of resources and support to build your confidence and success, including:

LEAP Online

The University’s interactive learning platform

LEAP is the University’s interactive learning platform, designed to support your academic, personal and professional development. It features various modules on topics, such as: academic writing, referencing, exam preparation and much more. Available 24/7, LEAP online is perfect for flexible learning at your own pace.

Boost Maths Support

Practice your maths

Is the practice and tutorial platform designed to strength your foundational maths skills. Boost offers a range of short tutorial videos and practice questions tailored to support your course success.

Academic Skills Workshops

The University’s interactive learning platform

LEAP Live workshops are designed to offer live, interactive sessions on key academic skills. Whether it’s how to write a critical analysis or strategies for effective reason, these sessions will allow you to learn directly from experienced staff and ask questions in real time.

Drop in Sessions

The Academic Skills Team

Provide a more informal opportunity for you to get quick advice on any academic skills challenges you may be facing. There’s no need to book - just turn up either in person or online and speak to a member of the Academic Skills Team about the queries you have.

One to One Consultations

Personalised sessions

If you require more tailored support, we offer one to one consultations both in person and online. These personalised sessions provide a chance to discuss your specific academic needs with a member of the Academic Skills Team. Whether you’re looking for feedback on a piece of work or targeted guidance in a particular area, these consultations offer focused, in depth support.
