Living Costs

Before starting higher education, it’s important to think about the costs you’re likely to face and how to manage your money.

You’ll receive your maintenance support in termly instalments. This will need to be budgeted for on-going costs such as accommodation, insurance, fuel costs, TV licence, food and drink, travel, sports, leisure and social activities, mobile phone and internet. If you’d like more information about budgeting please contact our student funding team: studentfunding@greatermanchester.ac.uk.

Below is an example of the estimated average cost of living for a full time student for one academic year*.
