If you are having problems with your student funding and would like one of the Student Funding Advisors to contact Student Finance England on your behalf, you will need to set up “Third Party Consent to Share”.
This means that an advisor from the university can speak to Student Finance England regarding your application for student funding on your behalf, without the need for you to be present, to facilitate this process you must first contact Student Finance England and give permission for your information to be shared with a third party.
To Set up Third Party Consent to Share*:
- Log in to your SFE account
- Under "View or manage your student finance", Click on "Give permission for someone to contact us on your behalf"
- You will be asked who you wish to share your information with – select "An organisation" and click Continue
- You will be asked for the name of the organisation. Type in "University of Greater Manchester" and click Continue
- You will be asked for our relationship to you. Type in "Higher Education provider" and click Continue
- You will be asked to choose a password. Please note the password needs to be different to the password you use to log in to your Student Finance England online account. Type in your chosen password and click Continue
- You will be asked to choose an end date – this is the date SFE will stop sharing information with us. Type in your chosen end date, for example the end of your course, and click Continue
- You will then see a summary page. Review your answers and if it’s all correct, click Share my information.
- You will then need to notify the Student Funding Advisor of your Customer Reference Number, chosen Consent Password and student details.
*Third Party Consent to Share is not consent to share for bursary and scholarship purposes.
