Alumni Discount

To qualify for the Alumni Discount, you must be a member of the Greater Manchester Alumni Association. Membership is automatic once you’ve successfully completed your undergraduate degree. You can find more details on the Alumni webpage.

The Alumni Loyalty Discount 2025/26 is available to both full-time and part-time UK and EU Master’s students who progress to a taught Master’s course at the University of Greater Manchester. To be eligible, you must have successfully completed a full Bachelor's degree, Foundation Degree, or PGCE/PGDE/PDE/Cert Ed at the University.

This discount recognises and rewards our graduates for continuing their academic journey with us.

Alumni Loyalty Discount 2025/2026

University of Greater Manchester Alumni Loyalty Discount 2025/2026. The Alumni Loyalty Discount will be awarded to full-time and part-time UK and EU Masters students, irrespective of their financial means, who progress to a University of Greater Manchester Taught Masters Course, having first successfully completed a full Bachelor's or Foundation Degree or PGCE/PGDE/PDE/Cert Ed at the University of Greater Manchester.

You must also have registered to become a member of the University of Greater Manchester Alumni Association.

Amount

£1,000 will be paid as a tuition fee waiver. Part-time students will receive a pro-rata discount over the duration of the course.

Eligibility

In order to apply you will need to demonstrate that:

  • you have successfully completed a full Bachelor's or Foundation Degree or PGCE/PGDE/PDE/Cert Ed at the University of Greater Manchester. There is no restriction on how long ago you completed the qualifying course
  • you must be studying a full-time or part-time Taught Masters i.e. MA, MSc, MBA or LLM course at the University of Bolton. Please note the award will be paid for full 180 credit Masters courses only, not partial Masters courses or any other type of course
  • you must not be in receipt of any other kind of sponsorship towards your tuition fees for example from an employer
  • the course of study must have commenced in September 2025 or January 2026. Retrospective applications from students who have commenced in previous academic years will not be accepted.
Applying for Alumni Loyalty Discount

Eligibility for the award will be assessed at point of application by Admissions.

Notification of Award

You will be notified whether your application has been successful or not via your university email address.

The invoicing department will receive confirmation from Admissions that you are eligible and will adjust your invoice accordingly.

If you defer entry onto your course of study you will be assessed for eligibility again by Admissions before commencement of your studies.

If you are not awarded a fee waiver the university has a Student Funding advice team who can advise you on possible alternative sources of funding for postgraduate study:

Terms and Conditions

The Alumni Loyalty Discount will be paid for first masters courses only, not second or subsequent courses.

Students studying a taught Masters abroad, or at an off-campus location or partner, are not eligible for the Alumni Loyalty Discount.

Students undertaking industrial or work experience on a full-time ‘sandwich’ basis are not eligible for the Alumni Loyalty Discount.

ITT Teacher Training courses are not eligible courses for the Alumni Loyalty Discount as students on these courses are eligible to apply for undergraduate funding from the Student Loans Company.

Students who transfer from Undergraduate to Integrated Masters will not be eligible to receive the Alumni Loyalty Discount.

The following courses are not eligible for the Alumni Loyalty Discount:

  • full or part-time research courses - Phd, MPhil, MRes, DBA, EdD, LLM by research
  • taught postgraduate Top-up courses
  • postgraduate Apprenticeship courses
  • Professional Doctorates.

Payments will be permanently terminated if the student withdraws, transfers to another institution, fails their programme of study, or interrupts or suspends their studies.

Payments are subject to continuing and satisfactory attendance on the course.Payments of the award are made entirely at the discretion of the university.
