As part of the University of Greater Manchester’s Welcome Week, Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Greg Walker, personally welcomed students to campus.
Here’s what Dr Walker said: “It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to the University of Greater Manchester.
“To all of our new students joining us this academic year - congratulations.
“This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter in your life and we are delighted that you have chosen to be part of our university community.
“Whether you have travelled from Bolton, across the UK, or from elsewhere in the world, you are now part of a diverse, vibrant, and ambitious community of learners.
“Each of you arrives with your own experiences, talents, aspirations, and perspectives. Those differences are one of our greatest strengths, and they help to create an environment where everyone, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
“Starting university is a significant milestone. It brings excitement, opportunity, and sometimes a few uncertainties. You may be wondering what the coming months and years will hold.
“What we can assure you is that you will be warmly welcomed at the University of Greater Manchester. Every member of staff here is committed to supporting you academically, professionally, and personally throughout your journey.
