The UK Student Recruitment Team is here to provide clear, accurate information, advice and guidance for anyone considering higher education.

We recognise the important role teachers and advisers play in supporting learners as they explore their options and plan their next steps. That’s why we work with schools and colleges to offer a range of activities, both on and off campus, helping learners explore higher education, discover what university life is like and make informed decisions about their future.

A campus visit gives your students the opportunity to explore UGM, find out more about higher education and learn more about subjects they’re interested in.

We can work with you to plan a programme for your students, including subject sessions, campus tours and opportunities to speak to our staff and students.

Our team can tailor the visit to suit your school or college and the areas you’d like your students to explore.

Our team can visit your school or college to help students explore higher education and find out more about university life.

We offer a range of talks and sessions covering topics such as choosing a course, applying to university, student life and finance. Sessions can also help students understand what to expect when they start university and give them the opportunity to ask questions about their options.

Higher education fairs and exhibitions give students the opportunity to explore different universities and courses in one place.

Come and speak to our team at one of the events below to find out more about studying at UGM, ask questions and explore your options for higher education.

This session introduces students to higher education and explores some of the differences between studying at college and university.

It provides an overview of topics including student finance, personal statements, the university application process and student life. Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about what studying at university could involve.

What is Student Finance?

Information on student loans and how to apply, looking at the importance of understanding student finance as early as possible in the process. We also cover top tops on how to look after your money whilst at university.

What is a personal statement, why do I need it and how do I begin writing one?

For 2026, the personal statement format has changed to three key questions. We will go through what universities are looking for and how to ensure students stand out from the crowd.

This presentation is designed to showcase all the opportunities outside of the classroom whilst at university. From Student Experience activities and the Students' Union to having the space to grow and develop as an individual.
