University of Greater Manchester football star Noah selected for English Universities squad

A student from the University of Greater Manchester has been selected for the English Universities Men’s Football Squad.

Noah Inneh, aged 21, was chosen following a national selection process involving regional trials, the North v South Challenge Cup, and a series of performance reviews.

Noah, who is studying for a Sport Rehabilitation degree, was chosen following assessment against players from universities across England.

His selection was based on technical ability and game understanding, application, commitment and attitude and consistent performance throughout the process.

He joined the training camp in Nottingham at the end of this month and got off to a fantastic start, winning man of the match in a friendly against Shepshed Dynamos, which the team won 3-2.

Earlier this year midfielder Noah, who plays for the University’s league-winning first team, was chosen as part of the northern universities football squad.

Noah, who lives in Bolton and also works for the University at the Bolton One sports centre, said: “I was filled with joy when I found out I had been selected. To represent England is amazing.”

Jason Pendlebury, the University’s Director of Sport and Outdoor Learning, said: “This is an outstanding achievement by Noah, being able represent his country at student international level.

“His success shows that University of Greater Manchester students can achieve recognition at national level and everyone at the University is incredibly proud of Noah.”
