University of Greater Manchester Entrepreneur in Residence to take on Gruelling Relay to Cycle Round Anglesey in 24 hours for the Christie Charity.

Manchester [17th September] – Two very amateur cyclists have taken the plunge to cycle round Anglesey in 24 hours, with an objective of raising more than £1,000 for The Christe Charity.

University of Greater Manchester Entrepreneur in Residence and and Founder of The Insights Family Nick Richardson, and his colleague Mark Armstong, who is The Insights Family Principal Web Developer have teamed up to cycle the islands 200km of coastline, in 24 hours, to raise funds for the Christie Charity, a pioneering cancer charity that is doing incredible work for a cause that is close to their hearts.

The due will start on October 16th, and will be facing the steep climbs, and unpredictable Welsh weather, the team will set off at 4:00 AM from Cemaes and aim to complete the circuit within 24 hours. The ride will test not only their endurance but their commitment to making a difference.

Mark Armstrong comments, “It’s still a blur how we came up with this idea, but now we have said we are going to do it, I am looking forward to the challenge and raising some money for Christie a pioneering cancer charity. I just hope the wind is blowing in our direction!” 

Nick Richardson adds, “It seemed a good idea at the time, and despite zero training to date, I very much hope we will be able to make last orders, and more importantly raise some money to support the incredible work that the Christie does”

The Christie is a specialist cancer centre in Manchester and has more than 120 years expertise in cancer care, research and education. It is the largest provider of radiotherapy in the NHS and is home to the largest chemotherapy unit in the UK,  treating 60,000 patients each year with 74% are from the North West of England.
