Welcome to the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy

“A place for peace, prayer, and community at the heart of our University.”

The University’s Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is here for everyone. Whether you practise a particular faith, are exploring questions of belief and meaning, or simply want somewhere calm to pause and reflect, you are warmly welcome.

About the Chaplaincy

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is a welcoming and inclusive space for all students and staff, whether you follow a particular faith or not, are exploring spirituality, or simply want a quiet place to reflect. Located in Chancellors Mall, the Chaplaincy offers prayer and quiet rooms, wellbeing activities, and confidential support. Everyone is welcome.

Finding Us

You’ll find the Chaplaincy at the top of Chancellors Mall.

In addition there are prayer rooms located at:

  • Greater Manchester Business School
  • Queens Specialist Building
  • University Medical School

Our Spaces

We’ve created spaces that reflect the diverse needs of our University community:

  • Prayer Room – set out for Muslim prayer, including a curtained area for women.
  • Quiet Room – used for Christian prayer, but also open to anyone, of any faith or none, as a peaceful space for reflection, meditation, or simply taking a break from the demands of university life.
  • Resource Area – a small library with books on spirituality, wellbeing, and faith. You’re welcome to read in the Chaplaincy or borrow books to take away.

Opening Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 8.30am – 7.00pm

Friday: 8.30am – 5.00pm
