Andrew is the Managing Director of Avoira, a Bury based technology company.
In 2011, he received a Highly Commended Certificate for his outstanding contribution to telecommunication from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh as part of the Prince Philip Medal awards.
Andrew served as the Chair of Governors at Bolton College for more than 10 years and is a past long-standing governor for a local primary school and a trustee of a charity for young people.
He is also a Trustee and Vice Chair of Quest, a Multi Academy Trust of which the University is a member. He chairs the Bury Business Leaders Group and is Bury Local President of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
Andrew was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Greater Manchester in 2018 for his services to education, recognising his "outstanding contribution to local schools, colleges and the University over some 25 years.
