Outdoor activity charity the Anderton Centre is celebrating after its new Aqua Park obstacle course achieved gold standard.
The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) accredited the park top-tier Gold Status, meaning it meets rigorous safety and equipment standards.
The Anderton Centre Aqua Park is a giant floating obstacle course where you can bounce, slide, climb, and race.
The Centre, which is part of the University of Greater Manchester Group, is located at Rivington Lower Reservoir, on the border of Chorley and Bolton and is renowned for rigorous water safety compliance and fully qualified instruction.
RLSS Gold Status means the Aqua Park meets operational excellence and rigorous equipment compliance.
Venues that hold this certification are recognised by RLSS UK and The Aqua Park Association as maintaining some of the highest operational and equipment safety levels in the industry.
Jason Pendlebury, Anderton Centre CEO, said: “We are delighted that our popular Aqua Park has been accredited Gold Status, following a tremendous amount of hard work by our team.
“The Aqua Park has proved a big hit with people of all ages since it opened and we are proud that it has now been awarded Gold Status by the Royal Life Saving Society UK.”
The Aqua Park closes for the winter at the end of September and reopens in May.
