Neil Dougan will put his general knowledge to the test next week as he pits his wits against a Chaser on the most popular daytime show on TV with a peak audience of five million.
Neil is an Assistant Teaching Professor and course leader of the University’s Film and Media Programmes.
He said: “I applied to fulfil a wish of my late wife and also for my son who had banned me from answering questions at home anymore unless I went on the programme. In other words, to keep me quiet!”
The episode was filmed in January.
Neil added: “I was told that academics tend not to go on the show because they are scared, that they will get easy questions wrong. I left my ego at home and did it as a bit of fun.
“It was an intense experience, but people will have to wait until Tuesday 31st May on ITV at 5pm to find out which Chaser I was up against and how I did. Let’s just say, it doesn’t lack drama!”
